Jean P. Gruet, Jr.

SCHUYLER - Mr. Jean P. Gruet, Jr. age 91, of 536 Short Lots Road, Frankfort (town of Schuyler) passed away on Sunday August 13, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica.

Jean was born on September 6, 1925, in the town of Northampton, NY, son of the late Jean P. Sr. and Florence (Dane) Gruet. He attended Northville schools. He served our country during World War II, US Navy. On December 28, 1959, he was united in marriage with Lucille Ruth Morgan. This was a blessed union of 44 years. Mrs. Gruet passed away on August 16, 2004. Jean worked as a Boss of Inspection, Sperry Rand Univac, Utica, NY. He and his wife Lucille exemplified total everlasting love to their family.

Survivors include children, Michael P. Gruet and his wife Laura of Schuyler, Kenneth C. Gruet and his wife Amy of Oriskany, NY, Richard W. Gruet of Ilion, NY, Brenda L. Gruet of Albany, NY, Louis R. Gruet and his wife Renee of Ilion, NY, and William G. Gruet of Schuyler, NY. 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, a brother Walter Gruet, his sisters, Ellen Johnson, Mary Taylor, and Shirley Little, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers and two children, Ann Marie and Pamela.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and guidance of Harry J. and Kevin E. Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia, Funeral Directors at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion, NY. (315-894-8000). A graveside funeral service at West Schuyler Cemetery will be held on Friday August 18, 2017 at 12 NOON with Pastor Susan Holland officiating.
