ST. JOHNSVILLE - Janice L. Grainer, 69, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida passed away on March 24, 2015, at her home. She was born on September 4th, 1945, daughter of the late Ralph Sims and Ruth F. (Shaut) Grainer of St. Johnsville, NY.
Janice graduated from St. Johnsville High School in 1963 and went on to receive her certification as an L.P.N. from Little Falls Hospital shortly after. She was a caring and thoughtful person who truly enjoyed her profession and the opportunity to help others. In the early 1980's Janice moved to Barneveld, NY, where she lived and worked for many years before she headed south to make a home in St. John’s County, Florida.
Summers growing up were quiet and filled with the simple comforts of family and afternoon picnics. She was a quiet free spirit with a passion for travel and exploration. A favorite pastime was taking impromptu road trips with close friends. She was also an avid sports fan with a particular love for Pittsburgh Steelers football team.
She is survived by loving family and longtime friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas D. Grainer.
A graveside service and burial will take place at the St. Johnsville Cemetery on Saturday, May 21st. Friends and family are invited to the services at 11 am. The Reverend David Johnson will preside.
