HERKIMER – Mr. James L. “Jimmy” Soja, 64, of 322 North Bellinger Street, Herkimer, NY, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare, Town of New Hartford, New York, with his loving family by his side.
James was born on June 2, 1956, in Utica, NY and attended Utica schools. He enjoyed fishing, movies and video games. He was employed by Twin Ponds Golf Course for many years until moving to Herkimer, New York. Throughout the years, James then worked with the Little Falls NYS Thruway Exchange from where he retired. James married the love of his life, Kathleen C. (Doris) Soja, on September 2, 2000, a union that lasted with 18 very happy years together until Kathy’s passing April 1st, 2019.
He is survived by his two stepdaughters, whom he was blessed with, Quita Moynihan and her husband, Timothy and Bonnie Graves and her partner, Kathleen Currie; four step grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and his faithful friend, Mya. James also leaves behind his second family, his coffee buddy, Brenda, Nicole, Christopher, his little Dakota who stole his heart and Jr.
The family would like to thank Faxton-St. Luke’s ICU for their care and compassion. Also, to the Enea Family (Kevin) for getting us through this. Not one bad word did Jimmy speak or was spoke about him. May he be reunited with the love of his life and rest in peace.
