St. Johnsville ? James H. ?Jim? Smith, 72 of 1751 Mill Road, St. Johnsville passed away on Sunday April 29, 2007 at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, NY. He was born May 26, 1934 in Little Falls the son of the late Henry F. & Laura (Sleezer) Smith, and was educated in Oppenheim ? Ephratah Central School. His marriage to Ruth Richards took place on July 12, 1952 in St. Johnsville. For 35 years until his retirement in 1998, Jim worked at Agway in Fort Plain. Mr. Smith was of the Lutheran faith. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Ruth, two sons, Keith Smith and wife Patricia of Sparta, Tenn., & Roger Smith and friend Marylou Sweet of Little Falls, two daughters, Carol Warn and husband Gary of St. Johnsville, & Gail Kane and husband Kevin of Palatine Bridge, six grandchildren, Bryon Smith, Mike & Jennifer Warn, Kevin, Jeremy & Matt Kane, 2 great grandchildren, Wyatt & Keith Smith and several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 3, 2007 at 11:00 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY, with Deacon James Luckner of St. Paul?s Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends & relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday May 2, 2007 from 5-8 pm. All memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul?s Lutheran Church, St. Johnsville Volunteer Fire Department or to Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc.
