James M. Moshier, 81 a long time Dolgeville resident, passed away on Wednesday April 6, 2005 at the home of his daughter Priscilla Traskey. He was born June 11, 1923 in Stratford the son of the late James & Catherine (Keller) Moshier and was educated in a one-room school house in Stratford. Jim was married to Grace Elizabeth Hall for 28 years until her passing in 1981. He was later married to Inez Walrath. Mr. Moshier was a World War II Army veteran, enlisting on January 25, 1943 and was honorably discharged on May 1, 1944 with the rank of Private First Class. Until his retirement in 1980 Jim worked at Adirondack Bat Co. in Dolgeville. Jim was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Dolgeville VFW, VA Association, Dolgeville Rod & Gun Club and a member of the former Oppenheim Redman?s Club. An avid outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed hunting. Survivors include 4 daughters, Priscilla Traskey and fiancee William Uebele of the Town of Moorehouse, Brenda Snyder and fiancee Bill Tyson of Newport, Winifred Lynch and fiancee Stewart Hicks of the Town of Ohio, & Sharon Decker and husband Kenneth of Dolgeville, 2 sisters, Catherine Houser of Dolgeville and Susan Youker of Salisbury, his grandchildren, Scott, Matthew, John, Jr., & Christopher Traskey, April Franklin, Richard Lynch, & Billie Tyson, Judy Clemons, Elena Lynch, Leon Lynch, Arthur Lynch, Tina Petkovsek, Julie Decker, Kenneth Decker, Jr., & Cory Decker, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and many nieces & nephews. He was pre-deceased by an infant son, James M. Moshier, Jr., a step-son, Donald Frederick, a sister; Elizabeth Guile, a brother, Daniel Moshier and a granddaughter, Violet Snyder. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 9, 2005 at 2:00 pm from the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville, NY. Interment will be later in the spring at Dolgeville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Saturday April 9, 2005 from 1:00 pm until the time of the services.
