Isabelle E. Cook, age 91, formerly of 17 Third St., Ilion, died Monday, December 26, 2005, at Mohawk Valley Nursing Home, where she currently resided. She was born on September 23, 1914 in Utica, the daughter of Morgan and Hannah (Crean) Cook, and graduated from Ilion High School. In her early years, Isabelle was employed at Remington Rand Co., Remington Arms Co., and the Ilion Board of Light. She was also a secretary for 29 years at General Electric Co., retiring in 1984. Isabelle was an active member of the Church of the Annunciation, a member of the AARP, and a former member of the Ilion Council of Catholic Women. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Mary Lou Cook of Latham, NY; three nephews, Joseph Cook of Saratoga Springs, NY, Mark Cook and his wife, Rebecca, of Bethlehem, GA, and Matthew Cook of Fairfax, GA; two nieces, Mary Kathleen Russell and her husband, Stanley, of Vooresville, NY, and Judith Ann Mulroy and her husband, Christopher, of Latham, NY; seven grandnephews and two grandnieces. Funeral services will be held 9:15 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2005, at the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, and 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Annunciation where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Alfred A. Lamanna. Spring interment will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery, N. Ilion, NY. Calling hours are Thursday, December 29, 2005, from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Annunciation. Donation envelopes are available at the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, Ilion.
