Hugo G. Orloff

GLOVERSVILLE – Mr. Hugo G. Orloff, age 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning December 21, 2016 at The St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with his loving children at his side. The family is grateful for their care extended by the staff of the facility as well as Dr. Gregory O’Keefe.

He was born on June 1, 1928 in Gloversville, NY, a son of the late Stephen and Lillian (Papa) Orloff and was a graduate of Gloversville High School. He was a United States Army Veteran, Korean War, Military Police. Hugo was married to the former Helen Nicolella in May, 1956 in Gloversville. This was a love-filled marriage and Hugo devoted everything to his beloved wife for over fifty years. Mrs. Orloff passed away in April of 2010. Hugo was the President of Ultimate Leather, in Gloversville. He was an avid bridge player and even enjoyed playing the game in tournaments. He was also fond of skiing, ice-skating and bowling. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Gloversville.

He is survived by his children, Michael Orloff (Wendy) of Rolla, Missouri, and Dena Orloff and fiancée Edison Pierce of Ballston Spa, grandchildren, Arianna Pimentel Leon and Franz Orloff, two great-grandchildren, a brother – in – law, Albert Nicolella (Josephine) of Auburn, NY and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife and two brothers, Stephen and John Orloff.
