JORDANVILLE – Mr. Homer M. Tarbox, age 91, fell asleep in death on Thursday evening, September 29, 2016 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, NY.
He was born on February 28, 1925 in Sherman, Pennsylvania, to Roy and Bessie (Lowell) Tarbox. On June 5, 1948 he married Edna E. Rogers. They shared 68 years of marriage. He is survived by his loving wife Edna, their children David and Alice Tarbox of Oppenheim, Paul Tarbox of Little Falls, Cindy and Ron Chrisman of Little Falls, Russell and Susan Tarbox of Fort Plain, and Deborah and Daniel Taylor of Little Falls, 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, his sister Lela Blanford of Newfield, brother LeRoy and Gladys Tarbox of Ithaca, sister Janet Lewis of Mohawk, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Lewis and Ross and his grandson Michael P. Tarbox. Homer loved his God Jehovah, his family, and his farm, and was devoted to all. He will be dearly missed.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 10 AM until Noon at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Route 5 in Palatine Bridge, NY. The memorial service by Steve Gage will begin at Noon. Procession will follow to Oak Hill Cemetery in Herkimer, NY where interment will take place. Arrangements are under the direction of Harry J. and Kevin E. Enea of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street in St. Johnsville, NY (518) 568-2300.
