ILION - Hilda C. Parker, age 84, passed away April 30th, 2021, from complications related to dementia.

She was born Hilda Klinkhart Crouch, daughter of James and Gertrude (Klinkhart) Crouch.

A 1953 graduate of Ilion Central School, she participated in numerous community activities, choir, volleyball, basketball, softball and soccer. Her future husband, was a 1951 graduate, James Alden Parker and they were joined in marriage, in January of 1957.

They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2017. Hilda will be dearly missed by her husband, Jim; sons, James Jr., and Ben (Ray); daughter, Lany; grand and great- grandchildren, Brittany (Patrick) and Dominic Riebold, James III (Ela), Scarlett and Imaari Parker, Kelly (Gabriela) Wolfe, Megan (Otilio) Gonzalez, Amanda (Austin) and Nora Hester, Brent Parker and Drew Parker; In-laws, Lawrence, Karen and Linda and their families; cousins, Maris Keller and Lany Mankowski and their families; nieces and nephews.

Hilda was a loving mother, wife and homemaker, active in PTA and Garden Club. She treasured antique furniture and inherited family heirlooms, was a pioneer in garage sales and village recycling projects, Bookkeeper for her husband’s businesses from Boston to Utica, her store on Otsego Street, the Parker’s Cider Mill and Ilion’s Farmer’s Market.

Hilda’s family wishes to offer their sincerest thanks to family friends, medical professionals and caretakers that provided her with comfort and assisted them. God bless all of you.

A memorial service is planned for late summer, as relatives will be attending from Germany, California, Florida, New England and the Mid-West.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, NY, Funeral Directors, Harry J. Enea, Jr., Kevin E. Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia.
