Helen Whalen

Helen Whalen, age 96, of Valley Health Services, Herkimer passed away on Thursday evening, Jan. 23, 2003 at that facility. Helen was born on October 5, 1906 a daughter of the late Peter and Sadie (Regan) Whalen. She was educated in New York City Schools. She was last employed as a stenographer and secretary in New York City. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing. Survivors include one cousins, Patricia Cox and husband Michael of Ridgefield, Conn. The family will gather to celebrate Helen's life at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, NY on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 29, at 2:00 p.m. There will be a memorial service at Valley Health Services, Herkimer at a later date.
