HERKIMER – Helen Veronica Vercz, 82, of Herkimer, NY, passed away on November 5, 2015 in Valley Health Services, Herkimer, surrounded with the love of her family.
She was born on August 11, 1933 in Cullen, NY, a daughter to the late Paul and Agnes (Babienski) Cioch and attended local schools. She last worked with General Electric in Utica, in the factory work field. She was a communicant of the Church of Sts. Anthony & Joseph of Herkimer, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking and took great pride in her Polish ancestry and heritage.
She is survived by her beloved family, children, Paul Vercz of Mohawk, Barbara March and her husband Owen of Mohawk, Michael Vercz of Mohawk, and Michele Morton of Little Falls, 9 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a brother and sister-in-law, Theodore Cioch and his wife Anne of Herkimer, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Several of her siblings preceded her in death.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at 9:00 AM in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, South Main Street, Herkimer, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Quy Vo. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. Her family has planned all funeral arrangements with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street in Herkimer, NY. Funeral Directors Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea (315) 866-1011.
