Helen Kanuch

Helen ?Tractor Gram? Kanuch, 89 a long time St. Johnsville resident, passed away on Sunday December 26, 2004, at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home. She was born April 15, 1915 in Barton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Andrew & Mary (Fejko) Keba Helen was educated in Barton, Ohio and moved to the St. Johnsville are in 1930. Her marriage to Michael Kanuch took place on November 30, 1935 at St. Patrick?s Church in St. Johnsville. The couple shared a blessed union of marriage for 58 years until the passing of Mr. Kanuch on November 20, 1993. Helen along with her husband ran the Kanuch family farm on Baum Road in St. Johnsville. Mrs. Kanuch was a member of St. Patrick?s Church and its Rosary Society and was a member of the St. Johnsville Senior Saints. Survivors include a son, James Kanuch of Canajoharie, a daughter, Jean Swartz and husband Gary of St. Johnsville, 2 brothers, David Keba of St. Johnsville & Steve Keba of Seminole, Florida, a sister, Margaret Kornas of Advance, NC, 4 grandchildren, Joseph Kanuch of San Francisco, California, Timothy Kanuch of Albany, NY, Jeffrey Swartz and wife Renee of St. Johnsville, and Connie Swartz ? Ketola and husband Todd of Brighton, Michigan, 2 great grandchildren, Ryan and Alyssa Swartz both of St. Johnsville, and several nieces & nephews. She was pre-deceased by 5 brothers, John, Joseph, William, Andrew & George Keba & 3 sisters, Jennie Kornas, Anna Kanuch & Mary Mesencik and a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Kanuch. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 29, 2004 at 2:00 pm from the Smith ? Woody and Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY with Sister Johanne McCarthy of St. Patrick?s Church officiating. Spring interment will be in St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday December 28, 2004 from 1:00 pm until the time of the services.
