HERKIMER - Hannah Jean Corin passed away in the Bronx, New York, on September 26th, 2024, at the age of 43. She was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Lowell, Massachusetts, on October 27th, 1980, daughter of the late Daniel R. Doxtader and Patricia A. Nelson Doxtader, of Herkimer, New York. She attended St. Francis de Sales School, in Herkimer, New York. After graduating from Herkimer High School in 1998, she studied music at Bard College.
Hannah’s early childhood years were spent in Lowell, Massachusetts with her parents, sisters, Nana and Grandpa Nelson, Aunt Colleen, Uncle Billy and Uncle John. After her family relocated to Upstate New York in the mid-1980’s, she was surrounded by the very large and loving Doxtader family, where she spent summers swimming in her Grandma Doxtader’s pool with cousins, camping at Racquette Lake and watching and re-watching 80’s movies (Ghostbusters was a particular favorite and she loved anything by Stanley Kubrick). During these formative years she developed a love for reading and a passion for music, which persisted throughout her life. She had an incredible thirst for knowledge and an amazing ability to recall facts and quote movies. She had a talent for playing the piano and a broad knowledge of classical music theory.
Hannah was a gentle soul, who cared deeply for human rights. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, quick wit and sense of humor.
She is survived by her sisters, Erika E. Doxtader and her husband, Sanjay Mukhopadhyay, of Pepper Pike, Ohio and Erin C. Cotton and her late husband, Matthew A. Cotton, of Little Falls, New York; her nieces, Ava Mukhopadhyay and Mila Mukhopadhyay; her nephews, Matthew D. Cotton and Tristan A. Cotton; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to a Graveside Service, at Calvary Cemetery, in Herkimer, New York, on Thursday, October 17th, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
Hannah’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors, of the Enea Family Funeral Home, Herkimer, New York.
