July 6th, 1950 - March 29th, 2025

Barbara Capes Miller, 74 of Summerville, SC, peacefully passed away, while surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, March 29th, 2025. She is finally reunited with her husband just in time for his birthday.

Barbara was born on July 6th, 1950, in Ilion, NY, a daughter of the late Seth Capes and Gladys McCoy Capes. Barbara attended Ilion High School and later started her career as a production associate for Duofold Manufacturing. She wore many hats throughout her life with her main focus being her family. Barbara married the love of her life, Gregory James Miller, and they spent 41 years together. Barbara and her husband called New York home for many years until moving to South Carolina. She had many enjoyments in life including crafting, quilting, reading and most of all, spending time with her beloved family; especially her grandchildren, who affectionally knew her as “GiGi”. She was an avid birdwatcher and would relax on the porch surrounded by nature. Barbara was an excellent cook, and her family especially loved her magic cookie bars and peanut butter balls. Barbara was Matriarch of her family and the glue that held the love together. She was a much beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her siblings: Carolyn Beran (Danny), Judy Tinkler and JoAnn Richards; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her loving husband; a loving son, Gregory James Miller, Jr.; a grandchild, Robert Dunn, Jr.; as well as her siblings: Beverly Sudakow and Larry Capes.

March 30, 1948- April 19, 2014

Gregory “Pops” James Miller, 66, of Summerville, husband of Barbara (Capes) Miller, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Summerville Medical Center.

Greg was born on March 30, 1948, in Ilion, NY, son of the late Ernest Miller and Agnus (Maydole) Miller. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by four brothers: Ernest Seelbach. Miller, Robert Miller, Gary Miller and Andrew Miller; two sisters: Rosemary Eisenhut and Rosalie He was predeceased by two sisters, Lois Varin and Marlene Papaleo.

In addition to their siblings, Gregory and Barbara are survived by their loving children: Tammy Pomichter and Cherie Grant (Robert Gatch); their grandchildren: Britney, Amanda, Zachary, Megan, Ashley, Kaitlyn, Alyssa, Taryn and Elizabeth; 23 great grandchildren; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 9am at Mt. View Memorial Gardens on Shells Bush Road, Little Falls. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Frankfort VFW from 11am-1pm.
