Gloria Cassese

Mrs. Gloria Cassese, age 80, a lifelong resident of Herkimer passed away on Sunday evening, Jan. 19, 2003 at Valley Health Services, Herkimer. Mrs. Cassese was born on September 28, 1922 in Herkimer a daughter of the late Anthony and Thomasina (Nance) Gallo and she received her education in Herkimer schools. On March 2, 1946, Gloria was united in marriage with Joseph Cassese in Herkimer. Mr. Cassese passed away on February 22, 1981. She spent many years taking care of her home and family. She was a communicant of the Church of Sts. Anthony and Joseph, Herkimer. She is survived by a brother, Peter Gallo and wife Angie of Sun City, CA., a brother in law, John Calella of Florida, a nephew, Anthony Gallo and wife Emma of Rome, three nieces, JoAnn Putruele of Rome, Sandra Papi of New Jersey and Cheryl and Charles DeVenney of California. She also leaves many cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Gallo and two sisters, Connie Ferrucci and Stella Calella. A graveside service will be held later this spring in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. There are no calling hours. The Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer is serving the family.
