Gladys Gorney

Gladys E. Gorney, 90, of the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home and formerly of Mohawk, NY passed away on Thursday May 12, 2005 at the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home. She was born June 29, 1914 in Gilbertsville, NY the daughter of the late Axel & Goldberg (Gundersen) Hagen and was educated in Elizabeth New Jersey school. Her marriage to Leo Gorney took place on February 4, 1932 in Richfield Springs, NY. Mr. Gorney passed away in 1981. Mrs. Gorney was last employed for the Village of Mohawk. Gladys was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the Ilion VFW, Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include a son, Louis Gorney and wife Faye of Sacramento, California; 2 daughters, Barbara Davis and husband Joseph of Mohawk, & Joan Boest and husband William of West Davenport, NY; 3 brothers, Thorolf (Toots) Hagen and wife Georgia of Sedgwick, Kansas, Peter & Paul Hagen both of Marlboro, NY; a sister, Evelyn Piccolini of New Jersey; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother; William Hagen. In keeping with Gladys' a memorial service will be held on Sunday May 22, 2005 at 1:00 pm from the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, NY. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. The family will be receiving friends & relatives on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the time of the services.
