Gladys Congdon

ST. JOHNSVILLE- Mrs. Gladys L. Congdon, 69, of State Hwy. 29, entered into eternal rest on March 20, 2010 at Bassett Health Care in Cooperstown. She was born on November 30, 1940, in Oppenheim, daughter of the late Myron and Carrie Mae (Lyons) Smith. On April 12, 1980 she was united in marriage with Ross L. Congdon in Salisbury. She was employed at Daniel Green?s in Dolgeville. Gladys was a wonderful wife and mother. She was a hard working, down to earth woman. She loved to sew. She especially loved her dog Sissy. Survivors include her husband Ross; her sons Brian Shafer and his wife Deanna of St. Johnsville, Randy Congdon and his wife Melody of St. Johnsville; her daughter Connie Bintliff and her husband Larry of Mohawk; her grandchildren : Heather, Ashley, Genna, Tamara; her great granddaughter Emma, her brother Milton Smith of St. Johnsville and her sister Violet Pearl of Lasselville. She was predeceased by her daughter Julie Ann Case and her brothers Myron Smith and Martin Smith. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, March26, 2010 from 5-7pm at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville. A religious service will follow with the Rev. David Plank officiating. The family is being cared for by the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, Dolgeville.
