Mr. Gino A. Terenzetti, age 78, of East Herkimer, passed away on Friday morning, October 24, 2003, peacefully in his home. At the time of his passing he had the love and support of his children at his bedside. Gino was born on December 5, 1924 in Little Falls, a son of the late Guido and Regina (Marocco) Terenzetti and received his education in Little Falls schools. He attended the Troy Vocational School. He was joined in marriage with the late Mary (Servidone) Terenzetti on May 6, 1950 in St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. He served our country proudly with the United States Army enlisting on March 2, 1943 and was honorably charged on February 7, 1946, as Private First Class. He served in the European Theatre of Operation. Gino was last employed with the New York State Thruway Authority, serving the Authority for 30 years of dedicated service. He was a communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer and the Mohawk Amercian Legion. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and also enjoyed golfing. Ginow as a well-known local prize-winning Northern Pike fisherman. He and his brother Americo fished the same Sacandoga Island for sixty consecutive years. He leaves a son, Eugene (Gene) Terenzetti and wife Joan of Rome, a daughter Theresa Terenzetti of Houston, TX, three brothers, Joseph Terenzetti of Saratoga, Paul Terenzetti and wife Gloria of Little Falls, and Peter Terenzetti and wife Marge of Utica, a sister, Gilda Aide of Little Falls and one grandson, Jon Terenzetti. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, Ann McDonald, Frank Tangorra, and his beloved friends, Fred, Rock and Tony Scarano, sons of his lifelong dear friend, the late Fred Scarano. He was preceded in death by a brother Americo Terenzetti and a sister, Lydia Whitman. Visitation at the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2003 from 5-8 p.m. Gino's funeral will commence at 9:30 am on Monday morning, Oct. 27, from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered thence to St. Francis de Sales Church, North Bellinger St., Herkimer where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am by the Rev. Mark Cunningham, pastor, officiating. Procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer where he will be laid to rest. Members of the Mohawk American Legion are asked to gather at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. on to conduct their service.
