Obituary
Mohawk: Mr. Gerald "Jerry" E. Quayle, 80, of Mohawk, passed away in Valley Health Services on Friday, November 27, 2009. Mr. Quayle was born in Mohawk on July 12, 1929, a son of the late Harry and Jennie (Day) Quayle. He was a graduate of Mohawk schools. Gerald was a co-owner of Quayle Oil Co. in Mohawk. He was also a technician for oil burners and furnaces.

Mr. Quayle was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and the Mohawk Kiwanis Club. He was active for many years with the Herkimer County Fair Association, and was a past President and Director. He was also a member of the National Guard.

Jerry is survived by his nephew, Ronald Quayle and many great-nieces and nephews, including Julie Quayle, who worked on his floor at Valley Health Services. He also leaves Chester Seeman and his very good friend, Sharon Barrett, who loved him, and was like a niece to him. Jerry's family would like to thank the staff on the Second Floor East of Valley Health Services for the care and compassion they showed him.

Gerald was predeceased by his parents, his only brother, Adelbert "Del," and his sister-in-law, Agnes Quayle.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday morning, December 3, 2009, from 10:00 ? 11:00 am at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, between Ilion and Frankfort (894-8000). His funeral will commence at 11:00 at the funeral home, followed by burial at Mohawk Cemetery.
