Mr. Gerald L. Ottman 95 a resident of the Folts Home in Herkimer and formerly of 14 West Faville Avenue Dolgeville, died Tuesday January 13th, 2015 at Folts Home.



He was born in Herkimer, on April 30, 1919 the son of the late Harland and Katharine (Widley) Ottman and was educated in Herkimer schools.



His marriage to the former Margaret O. Metz took place on December 12, 1944 in Long Beach, California. Mrs. Ottman predeceased him on July 10, 2004.



Gerald was first employed by the Rockland State Psychiatric Center and also Titan Security for several years. Upon his retirement he also was employed by the former Herkimer County Trust Company as a courier.



His family will remember him by his sharp dressing on Sundays and all holidays and especially for his "Vanity" license plates that he had on all of his cars. They included "Upstater", 'U R Nosey", and "I Owe A lot".

He is survived by a Son and his wife Gerald & Cathy Ottman Jr. of Tenn., his daughters Geraldine & James Bellinger and Kathy Pentland both of Dolgeville, his grandchildren Natalie Gail, Lisa Marie, Barbara & Kevin, 9 Great grandchildren, 3 Great great Granddaughters and a Great great Grandson, his step grandchildren Gina, Theresa, Sandra & Ronald, several Nieces & Nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Harold, Charles and Donald and his Sisters Frances Grummons, Gladys Carter, Fern Bunce, Alberta Ottman & Ruth Tinkler.



A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday January 24th, 2015 at 11AM at the New Hope Christian Fellowship 32 Spencer street Dolgeville. Rev. Pat Andreoli, will officiate. Burial will be in the Spring in the Dolgeville Cemetery. There are No Calling hours.



Memorials may be made to the New Hope Christian Fellowship in his name. Envelopes will be available at the service.
