WEST WINFIELD – George R. Price, age 83, of Babcock Hill Rd., West Winfield, NY, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at the Abraham House, Utica, NY, with his family by his side.
He was born on September 16, 1938, in Mohawk, NY, the son of George and Evelyn (Prue) Price and attended Mohawk schools. At one time, he was married to Marjorie Doremus. He was later married to Marilyn (Randall) Scranton, on August 22, 1986, in Marcy, NY. George was employed in the Maintenance Dept., at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Utica, NY.
Surviving family members include his wife, Marilyn; 3 children, Georgia Hecker and her husband, Mark, of West Winfield, Steven Price and his husband, Norman, of Rochester and Eric Price and his wife, Debbie, of Utica; 2 stepchildren, Deborah Colerick and her husband, Steven, of NC and Michael Scranton and his wife, Kelly, of Durhamville, NY; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sisters, Beverly Maziarz and her husband, Richard, of Melbourne, FL and Eleanor Kutulis, of Castle Rock, Colorado; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Lisa Nimey and a special nephew, Ron Price; and several cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; his son, Donald Price; and his brothers, Darrel, John and Danny Price.
In keeping with George’s wishes, his body was donated to the ANATOMICAL GIFT PROGRAM, at SUNY Upstate Medical University, of Syracuse, NY, therefore, there are no scheduled calling hours or services to be held at this time. The family wishes to thank the compassionate care giving of the angels at the Abraham House.
