George W. Lang

May 7, 1944 — February 5, 2025

LITTLE FALLS - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of George W. Lang, a beloved brother, father, and grandfather, who joined his Heavenly Father on February 5, 2025, at the age of 80. George was a lifelong resident of Little Falls, a community he loved dearly, and he passed away at peace surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on May 7, 1944, George was the son of the late Lieutenant George W. Sr. and Josephine F. (Gregorka) Lang, cherished brother of James, and a devoted father to his daughters, Deanna (Michael) Comer, Debora Lang, and Christen Anderson. He was a proud grandfather to Christian, Daniel, and Kirsten Comer, Zachary and Brianne Nobile, and Kyleigh Anderson, all of whom brought great joy to his life.

George proudly served his country in the U.S. Army before embarking on a long and fulfilling career. His work ethic was second to none, and he spent many years with MDS, the Little Falls City School District, and in his retirement, found his true calling with the Green Thumb Program at Herkimer County Community College. There, George was in his element, helping beautify the campus alongside his cherished colleagues. When he wasn’t at work, you could be sure to find him working as his daughters’ personal landscape architect, handyman, and Papa-sitter.

George loved hunting and "throwing a line or drowning a worm," but his true peace and happiness came from spending time in the woods, especially when with family. George’s family was always in amazement of his vast knowledge of nature and the outdoors.

George was a man who selflessly dedicated time to his extended family throughout his life, including his aunts and uncles, who had a significant influence on his upbringing. He was beyond loyal to all that knew him. His connection to family was paralleled to his deep commitment to community. George was a dependable and selfless member of the Little Falls community, including the local Elks Club (B.P.O.E. 42) where he regularly took the initiative to lend a hand.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to those who provided George with compassionate care throughout his treatment journey. Your support and dedication meant the world to him and his loved ones. We gratefully acknowledge the mother of his children, Evelyn Lang, for her dedicated and constant support. They also extend their gratitude to the Herkimer and Rochester Bassett Health Care Teams, to Dr. Tyler Peterson, to Michelle, his special dietary aide and personal ray of sunshine, and to the Enea Family Funeral Homes, served by their family funeral director, Kevin E. Enea.

A private celebration of George’s life will take place at the convenience of his family. Contributions in his name may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), or to an organization of your choice to support their continued work.

George will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Arrangements have been made with The Enea, Ciaccia, & Applegate Funeral Directors at 24 West Monroe Street in Little Falls, New York, (315) 823-2424. Thie obituary can be viewed at the funeral home website by visiting www.eneafamily.com on the Internet.
