Gail E. Grant, age 71, Salisbury Center and Mohawk Valley resident, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, November 21, 2022, at the Abraham House in Rome.
Born in Little Falls on March 16, 1951, Gail was the daughter of the late Doris (Lanphere) and Melvin Broat. On August 25, 1967, Gail was wed to Mr. Dennis Grant at the Salisbury United Methodist Church. Together, they shared in a blessed union of over thirty-five years until Dennis’ passing on March 3, 2003.
Gail is survived by her children, Dennis Grant, Laura and Kenneth Jenkins, Charles Grant and Thomas and Brittany Grant and Carolyna Grant, and her siblings, Ike Broat, Gina Broat, Keith Broat along with numerous grandchildren, friends and extended relatives. Gail was predeceased by her brother Richard Broat.
Gail’s calling was that of being a foster mother for over thirty-five years for Herkimer County and the House of Good Shepherd. She selflessly cared for many children who otherwise would not have had a home.
There will be no formal services at this time. Spring interment will take place in Curtis Cemetery, Salisbury. Gail’s final wishes have been entrusted to the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000.
