New Hartford: Gail G. Coons, 68, of New Hartford, passed away peacefully, on March 27, 2013 at her home, with her family by her side.



She was born on January 25, 1945 in Ogdensburg, the daughter of the late Edgar J. and Mary M. Monroe Gilbert. Gail was educated in Utica schools. On December 5, 1987, she married Arthur L. Coons.



For many years, Gail worked in the Mohawk Valley for Independent Care of Rome. Earlier in her life at one time, she worked in home health care in Schenectady. Gail loved crafts and also owned a ceramic shop. She enjoyed passing her free time by going to garage sales.



Gail is survived her husband, Art; her children, Edward P. Baldwin of Utica and Melissa Baldwin and her partner, Kym Irons of Cranston, RI; her sisters, Helen Fountain and Mary Esther Whaley of New Hartford; her grandson, Jacob "Marley" Irons and his wife Jessica Bagley; her great grandchildren, Gionni Bagley and Juelz Irons, and many loving friends including Irene Paradis (first friend) and best friends, Kathy Reedy, Ceil Jones and numerous family members in the Schenectady area. She also leaves her furry friends, her dog, Ginger and her cats, Lydia and Edgar.



In keeping Gail's wishes there will be no public visitation or funeral service. The family will celebrate Gail's life at a private memorial service at their convenience. In memory of Gail, kindly consider donations to Spring Farm Cares Animal Sanctuary, 3364 State Rt. 12, Clinton, NY 13323.
