ILION – Mr. Fred R. “Bull Whip” Griffin, 75, of London Towers, passed away, on August 7, 2024, at his residence, of natural causes.
He was born on December 10, 1948, in Herkimer, New York, a son of the late Leon Griffin and Mae Miller Griffin Osborn and stepfather, Donald “Don” Osborn. He attended school in Richfield Springs and Ilion and worked at Remington Arms and then Ron Bunce Paving. He loved cats and dogs. He loved the animals, Genessee Beer and his friends at London Towers. He was blessed to have a devoted friend always at his side, Chris Morris.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa Parese and her husband, Patrick “Butch”, of East Herkimer; his grandchildren, Danielle Parese and her boyfriend, Bradley Stefanik, Lindsey Parese and her fiancé, Ryan Fahy and Patrick Parese and his girlfriend, Ariele Bell; his sisters, Mary Moore, of Ilion and Vivian McGraw, of Ilion; and a half-sister, Debbie Osborn Clark and her husband, Jack, of Richfield Springs.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leon and Mae; his stepfather, Don; and his siblings, Patricia Brownell, Gloria Smaldone, Victoria Dineen, Dorothy Rowlands, Leon “Junior” Griffin, Edward Griffin, James Griffin Carr and Richard Griffin.
