Frank Edward Servello, 90, of 104 N. Washington St., (Folts Homes), passed away Saturday, March 29, 2003, at the Folts Homes. He was born Nov. 7, 1912, in Poughkeepsie, the son of the late Nicola and Marianna (Monteleone) Servello, and was a graduate of Herkimer High School. His marriage to Nan Ciuffa took place June 8, 1940, in Herkimer at St. Anthony's Church by the Rev. G. Purificato. He was owner and operator of the former Frankie's Army and Navy Store in Herkimer. At one time he was employed at the former MDS in Herkimer. Prior to that he worked at several retail stores and at Univac in Utica. Mr. Servello was a member of the Church of Saints Anthony and Joseph in Herkimer. Frank was a member of the Herkimer Crusaders and Herkimer Knights of Columbus and at one time was Grand Knight. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Nan; a daughter, Eugenia (Jeanie) Lynet and husband James of Liverpool; a brother, John Servello and wife Carol of Ilion; a sister, Virginia Schiavi of Little Falls; three grandchildren, James Lynet III and wife Andrea of Baldwinsville, Jill Smith and husband Eric of Baldwinsville and Amanda Marques and husband Christopher of Melrose, Mass.; two great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Lynet and Eric Alexander Smith; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Orlando Servello and five sisters, Louise Basile, Ruth Jaworoski, Christina Servello, Olga Eramo and Yolanda Servello. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 3, at 10:15 a.m. from the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, and at 11 a.m. from the Church of Saints Anthony and Joseph where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Mark Cunningham, pastor of St. Francis de Sales Church. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery later in the spring. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Wednesday, April 2, from 4-7 p.m. All memorial contributions may be made to Folts Homes. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
