NELLISTON - Florene D. Masi, 102, formerly of Nelliston, New York, passed away on December 3, 2024, in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
She was born on September 24, 1922, in the town of Manheim, New York, and was the daughter of the late Erwin and Blanche (Crossman) Avery. She was educated in Fort Plain schools. She was married to Walter Masi on April 12, 1942, and he died in 1992. She worked at Beechnut Life Savers in the office and customer service in Canajoharie.
She is survived by a daughter Norene Michalik of Port St. Lucie, Florida, a son Vincent Masi of Port St. Lucie, Florida, a son Banard Masi of St. Johnsville, and a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Elizabeth Masi of Fairbanks, Alaska, 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, and her husband Walter Masi, her daughter-in-law Sandra Masi, and her five sisters, Velma Arndt, Einza Youker, Elva Suits, Reva McGowan, and Agatha Polmateer.
Her Funeral Mass & Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Friday June 20, 2025, 12:00pm at Our Lady of Hope Church, Fort Plain thence to St. Johnsville Cemetery, at the family plot, and there will be no calling hours per her wishes.
