Evelyn R. "Snooky" Pettengill, 64 of Salisbury Center and a former Dolgeville resident, passed away on Thursday June 9, 2005 after a long illness. She was born January 6, 1941 in Dolgeville the daughter of the late Harold & Cora (Doxtader) Ellis. Snooky was a graduate of Dolgeville High School, class of 1957. For 29 years Evelyn worked as a secretary of the Tumble Forms in Dolgeville, being one of the first employees hired. Mrs. Pettengill was a member of the C& MA Church, Town of Ohio, NY. A loving and dedicated mother and grandmother, Evelyn devoted herself to the well-being and happiness of her family. They were her foremost priority and the focus of her existence. Survivors include her son, Brian Pettengill of Salisbury Center; 3 daughters, Dawn Allen and husband Kenneth, Jr., of Salisbury Center, Karen St. Louis and husband Edward of Little Falls, & Valerie Walrath and husband Matthew of East Herkimer; 7 grandchildren, Kenneth Allen, III, Keith Crane, Jena Allen, Joel Jakubowicz, Logan Jakubowicz, Isaiah Walrath & Olivia Allen; and several nieces, nephews & cousins. She was pre-deceased by 2 sisters. Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 11, 2005 at 7:00 pm from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, NY with her son-in-law Pastor Kenneth Allen, Jr. officiating. Interment in VanHornesville Cemetery will be private and held at a later date. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Saturday June 11, 2005 from 5 pm until the time of the services. All memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Ohio Alliance Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
