Esther H. Paulson

MOHAWK - Esther H. Paulson, of Mohawk, formerly from Hollywood Florida , passed away at the Foltsbrook Nursing Home on Thursday June 6th, 2019.

Esther was born on September 6, 1933 in New York State , a daughter of the late Fritz E. Surtmann and the late Hilda Edel.

Surviving Esther is one son, Gerry; a stepdaughter, Lorraine (Britton) Dunfield (Graham Carmichael); 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Rivkovitch (Harry deceased); and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Butch (Angie); and a sister, Margaret (Ralph deceased).

Esther was in the Navy from approximately 1953 to 1957 where she met her first husband, Gerry Paulson.  She married Douglas Britton (deceased) in 1983.

Esther worked at the Hollywood Pavillion, in Hollywood , Florida as the office manager for many years.  She moved to Mohawk, NY in 2002.  She joined the Mohawk Reformed Church upon arriving in Mohawk and later became the church secretary.

Esther moved to Foltsbrook Home December 2, 2016.

There will be a memorial service at the Mohawk Reformed Church at 11:00 am Monday, June 10, 2019.
