ILION - Elsie ?Naomi? Mursch, 95, formerly of Prindle Apts., Ilion, Herkimer and Gansevoort, N.Y., passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Mohawk Valley Nursing Home, Ilion, where she had been a recent resident. She was born on Oct. 15, 1913, in Feurabush, N.Y., the daughter of George W. and Elsie (Wilmot) Bills. She graduated from Saratoga Co, schools, George Washington University and Providence Hospital. At one time Naomi was married to Newton Saunders, who was killed in Germany during W.W.II. She later married Paul Mursch Jr. who died in 1968. Naomi was a registered nurse and licensed in six states. She was employed in Washington D.C., Bendix Corp., Utica and Utica Mutual in New Hartford, retiring in 1978. She was a member of Rome OES, Little Falls VFW Auxiliary, Mohawk American Legion Auxiliary, MCL and Women of the Moose #35 and a former member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Herkimer. Survivors include her close and dear friends, Robert ?Bob? and Ann Dreizler of Sedona, AZ. and Jewel Vayo of Ilion; foster children Esther Roberts and Margaret Wood and many other friends. She was predeceased by her parents, husbands and two brothers, Russell and George Bills. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 23, 2009, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, with Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park, town of Kirkland, N.Y. Visitation will be Thursday, 9:30-10 a.m. prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or Frankfort United Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, Ilion.
