Elnora M. Becker

FORT PLAIN – Elnora M. Becker, 89, of Sanders Road , Fort Plain , New York , died Thursday, January 31, 2019, at Bassett Medical Center , Cooperstown , NY .

She was born on February 26, 1929, in St. Johnsville , NY , a daughter of the late Frank and Mae (Grisel) Fletcher. She was educated in St. Johnsville schools. Elnora lived in the Fort Plain and St. Johnsville area for many years. She was of the Protestant faith. Her marriage to Ernest Becker took place on November 20, 1948, in St. Johnsville , New York . Mr. Becker passed away February 12, 1993. At one time, Elnora worked with Felt Shoe Company. She enjoyed listening to Linda Lee and the Fox Creek Band and her daughter, Deb, who plays in the band.

Survivors include her children, Connie Becker, of Fort Plain, Loretta Evans and husband, Steven, of West Winfield, Sheila Becker, of St. Johnsville, Deb Becker, of Fort Plain, Jeffrey Becker and wife, Dawn, of Burlington Flats, Brenda Prehena and husband, William, of Nichols, South Carolina, Roger Becker and wife, Nancy, of Nelliston, and Kenneth Becker and wife, Margaret, of Mullins, South Carolina; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Becker, of Dolgeville; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her sons, Raymond, in 2014 and Ronald, in 1958; siblings, Malvina, Isabella, Richard, Bernard and Ruth; grandsons, Michael Becker and Raymond Becker, Jr.; and a great-grandson, Ethan Becker.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at 6:00 PM, from The Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street , in St. Johnsville , New York , with Rev. Richard Smith, officiating. Interment will be in St. Johnsville Cemetery, St. Johnsville , New York , in the spring. Calling hours at the Enea Family Funeral Home will also be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, from 3 until 6 PM.

Donations in memory of Elnora may be considered to American Diabetes Association.

The family would like to thank Bassett Medical Center ’s doctors and nurses and the St. Johnsville Clinic for all of the compassionate care.
