Ellen Louise Bollerman

May 15, 1950 – July 23, 2025

After fighting a years-long and heartbreaking battle against dementia, Ellen L. Bollerman, 75, died at peace after being surrounded by loved ones, reuniting at last with her mother and father she so desperately wanted to be with again.

Despite living in Sharon Springs for 30+ years and Richfield Springs for another few, Ellen always proudly claimed her home as Port Washington on her beloved long Island. She was born there to Charles (Mickey) and Grace (Bub) Bollerman. A beautiful coastal village, she never forgot the sounds and smells of the water, and returned to Port in her mind much of these past few years.

Ellen’s organization skills served her well as she ran a private practice pediatrician’s office on Long Island, was the manager of B.J.’s Grocery & Cafe in Sharon Springs, ran the mailroom at Sterling Insurance Company in Cobleskill and became a member of the founding team of the Walmart Distribution Center #1041 in Sharon Springs, proudly receiving her training to help open the facility in Bentonville, Arkansas itself. She worked at the DC for 15 years before retiring to care for her ailing mother.

Ellen was an amateur nature photographer, an antique lover and an incredible cook and baker, but it was as Nana to her two #1’s, Victoria and Brady, that she really shined. To her daughter and grandchildren, Ellen passed on her love of all things nautical, Beatles and Billy Joel music, big comfy t-shirts, her creativity and organizational skills, her appreciation for their family heritage, and her notable stubbornness.

Ellen is survived by her daughter, FaithAnn(Joe) Young of Richfield Springs, granddaughter Victoria of Middletown, CT, grandson Brady of Richfield Springs, her brother Jeff(Suzie) Bollerman of Longmont, CO, and several nieces and nephews. She is recently predeceased by her older brother, Charlie Bollerman, of Port Washington, NY.

There will be no funeral services, per Ellen’s wish, however her immediate family will accompany her back to “Port” one last time to rest beside her beloved Manhasset Bay.

Ellen Bollerman’s services were prearranged and entrusted to her Family Funeral Director and friend, Don Applegate, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s original location, at 102 West Street, Ilion (315-895-7722).
