Elizabeth Rose Sayward

Elizabeth Rose Sayward, lovingly known as Betty, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on September 5, 2026. She was 75 years old. Born on November 3, 1950, in Cobleskill, NY, Betty was the cherished daughter of Gerald and Beatrice (Vogel) LaQuee.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, siblings and her son: Martha Moak, Mary Leon, Gerald LaQuee Jr., Shirley Warner, and Michael Jason Root. She is survived by her devoted husband, Rolland G. Sayward of Little Falls, NY, and Ginger their beloved Bernese. With whom she shared a loving marriage since October 7, 2000. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home in Little Falls, NY.

Betty was a proud mother to her son, Michael Jason Root, and her daughter, Crystal H. (Root) Rowe, who is married to Floyd J. Rowe Jr. Her life was further enriched by her four cherished grandsons: Armand T. (Manny) Root, Nathan T. Rowe, Aiden L. Rowe, and Hunter E. Rowe. Betty also leaves behind several stepdaughters, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will remember her fondly.

A graduate of Richmondville, NY, Betty dedicated part of her professional life to serving others with warmth and a smile at the Dunkin Donuts located at the NYS Thruway restaurant stop at the Indian Castle, until her retirement.

Betty's life was filled with simple joys and cherished hobbies. She found great happiness in camping adventures, spending quality time with her grandsons, and delighting in the art of crocheting, she enjoyed crocheting baby hats and making donations to local hospitals. Betty also cherished the tranquility of card games and the joy of a leisurely drive, marveling at the beauty of snowfall through the valleys and the breathtaking autumn foliage in the mountains.

Known for her quick wit and candid opinions, Betty brought humor and a refreshing perspective to those around her. Her vibrant spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Betty's memory to the American Heart Association, a cause close to her heart.

Betty's legacy of love, laughter, and warmth will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
