Elizabeth "Betty" Peruzzi

ILION-ST. JOHNSVILLE - Elizabeth” Betty” Peruzzi, age 81, of Ilion, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at the Grand, Ilion.

Betty was born on June 2, 1942, in Little Falls, the daughter of Dominick and Viola (Nobili) Peruzzi. She attended school in St. Johnsville and graduated with the class of 1960. She went on to further her education at the Utica School of Commerce.

Betty worked many of her years at MDS as a secretary. She loved her job and it showed in her work. She retired in 2004, from MetLife and spent her retired years caring for her grandchildren. She loved going to Pine Lake and playing on the beach. She was always ready to play a round of Sorry with whoever was ready to play. She cherished any time spent surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her children, Steven Carlisle and his wife, Banu, Todd Carlisle and his wife, Kelly, and Jade Hassett and her husband, Michael; her cherished grandchildren, Brendan, Dillon, Adam, Kali, Brooklyn, Ty and Kaya; her one great-grandson, Emmett; her sister, Mary Ann (Dick) Francisco and sister, Joyce Pollitt; her twin brother Robert (Dawn) Peruzzi; her brother, Ron Peruzzi; and her sister, Bonnie (Stephanie) Peruttzi; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, Dominick and Viola (Nobili) Peruzzi; her sister, Barbara Peruzzi; her brother-in-law, Jack Pollitt; and her nephew, Trevor Peruzzi.

A special thank you goes out to the staff at the Grand, for their kindness and care.

In keeping with Betty’s wishes there will be no calling hours. A Graveside Service will take place on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. David A. Johnson officiating, at the Prospect View Cemetery, in St. Johnsville (St. Johnsville Cemetery behind the high school). There will be a celebration of life following at the American Legion Post 168, in St. Johnsville.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
