Elizabeth Lenney

Elizabeth Wallace Lenney of Herkimer, NY entered into eternal rest on November 11, 2003. She was born on July 27, 1916 in Herkimer, a daughter of Ray C. and Teresa C. Wallace. On August 11, 1945, she was married to Donald J. Lenney who preceded her in death in 1966. She was a grauduate of Herkimer High School, class of 1933, and of Potsdam State Teachers College, class of 1937. She was an elementary school teacher and taught in Clinton, NY and Mohawk, NY. She retired from teaching in 1977 after more than thirty years of teaching in the Herkimer Central School Disctrict. She was a life-long communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer and graduated from St. Francis de Sales School in 1929. Mrs. Lenney is survived by a son, James R. Lenney, of Herkimer; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian M. and Susanna Lenney of Bletchingley, England; and by a daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and William Lawrence of Johnsburg, NY. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Jamie W. Lenney and Rachael S. Lenney of Bletchingley, England; three nieces and one nephew, Mary Ellen Roche of Scottsdale, Az, James W. Milazzo of Forest Hills, NY, Jane A. Milazzo of Valhalla, NY, and Barbara Coveny of Princeton, MA. She is further survived by great-nieces and nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Eileen Wallace Milazzo. Her funeral will take place on Monday, November 17, 2003 at 10am at St. Francis de Sales Church, N. Bellinger Street, Herkimer, NY after a prayer service at the Holeran-Enea Funeral Home at 9:30am. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home on Sunday, November 16, 2003 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Those wishing to do so may make contributions in Mrs. Lenney's memory to St. Francis de Sales School, Herkimer, NY. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
