Elaine Leonard

ILION-Mrs. Elaine O. "Peg" Leonard, 86, of 15 Buchanan St., Ilion passed away on Tuesday morning, October 21, 2008 in Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford. She was born on January 14, 1922 in Herkimer, daughter of the late John and Maude (Farmer) Geraghty and educated in Herkimer schools. She was united in marriage to Lynn Leonard on February 23, 1946 in St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. He passed away in 1970. Peg was last employed with MDS in Herkimer in the purchasing department. She was a member of the Church of the Annunciation, Ilion. Peg loved her home and its surroundings and also enjoyed reading. Survivors include a daughter: Gail Cavo and husband John of Plantation, FL; a brother: Tex Geraghty of Rochester; a sister: Gerry Semit and husband Herb of Herkimer; two grandchildren: John and Chris Cavo; a great grandchild: Emma Cavo and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., between Ilion and Frankfort, 894-8000 will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2008 from 4-7 p.m. Mrs. Leonard's funeral will commence at 11 am on Friday, Oct. 24, from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered. Procession will follow to Cedarville Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest.
