Edwin P. ?Ed? Coffin East Herkimer ? Edwin P. ?Ed? Coffin, 87, a long time Little Falls resident, and recently of East Herkimer, passed away on Wednesday April 4, 2007 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland, Florida. He was born August 18, 1919 in Mohawk, the son of the late Leon Coffin, Sr., & Rose (Mulligan) Coffin, and was educated in Indian Castle schools. His marriage to Nancy Tisi took place on May 11, 1946 at St. Joseph?s Church in Little Falls. Mr. Coffin was a World War II Army veteran, enlisting on September 6, 1940 and was honorably discharged on June 29, 1945 with the rank of Private. While serving his country, Ed received the Purple Heart. For 22 years, until his retirement in 1981, Ed worked for General Electric in Utica. At one time he was employed at Univac and Remington Arms. Mr. Coffin was a member of the Holy Family Parish, Little Falls AARP and the Senior Patriots of Florida. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy; two sons, Edwin Coffin, Jr., of Los Angles, California, and James Coffin and wife Judy of Clayville, NY; a daughter, Sharon Coffin of Lakeland, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Christine Coffin of Scotia, NY a brother, Jack Coffin of Little Falls; one sister, Patricia Lynch of Little Falls; 7 grandchildren; James, Melissa, Donald, Kristy, Joette, Paul & Alex; 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and in-laws, Ben Tisi and wife Fern of St. Johnsville, Ida Rich of Little Falls, and Mary Raiello of Little Falls. He was pre-deceased by two sons, CPL Donald Coffin who died in Vietnam and Gary Coffin, a daughter, Lorraine Coffin Tucci, two brothers and five sisters. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 11, 2007 at 10:15 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, NY and at 11:00 am from Holy Family Parish, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Anthony Ligato, pastor. Burial will follow at St. Mary?s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer with full military honors. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Tuesday April 10, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. All memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Holy Family Parish. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home
