ST. JOHNSVILLE – Edward L. Gray, age 74, of St. Johnsville, NY, passed away, on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Ellis Hospital, in Schenectady, NY.
He was born on January 5, 1949, to parents, Ernest and Esther Gray, of St. Johnsville, NY, and graduated in 1968, from Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School and Cobleskill College, in 1971. He then went to Columbia, in the Peace Corp. He was a dairy farmer all his life, with his brother, Dennis. He was an OHM member and President, at one time. He participated in the Fonda fair with his dairy animals, at which he enjoyed winning many awards. Edward always wanted people to do right with him. In his later years, Ed enjoyed helping on the farm. He was a member of the Town Planning Board.
He is survived by his sisters: Carolyn Johnson, Joanne (Karl) Gebhardt, of Palatine Bridge, NY and Nancy Gray; and his brother, Dennis Gray, all of St. Johnsville; nieces and nephews, Emil Johnson, Susie (Robert) Chou, Craig Kevin (Tammy), Steven Gebhardt, Meaghan (Allen) Harris, Justin (Mary) Gray and Kayla (AJ) Bafteto; and many other nieces and nephews, especially fond of Grayson.
He was predeceased by his brother, Frederick Gray.
There are no calling hours or funeral. Burial will be in the family plot.
