Edward Hunt

RICHFIELD SPRINGS-ILION - Edward ?Ed? Hunt, 71, of 9 Park St., Richfield Springs, N.Y., died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at home after a long illness. He was born on May 21, 1937, in Fort Plain, the son of Edward and Margaret (Stefanacci) Hunt. Ed was a veteran serving in the United States Navy. On Sept. 23, 1972 he was married to Daureen Rourke in Ilion. He and his wife recently celebrated their 36th anniversary. At one time, Ed was employed as a mechanic at National Auto Co. in Ilion. Survivors include his wife, Daureen, his children, Edward Hunt and wife, Barbara of Amsterdam, Kim Hunt and Robert Pryor of Scotia, Melissa Hunt of Utica, Joseph Hunt and Vernonica Fischer of Utica, Tracy Hunt of Herkimer, Tyler Hunt and Erica Garbera of Richfield Springs, Matthew Hunt and Amy Archer of Ilion, David Hunt and Deverie McNair of Mohawk, Cody Hunt of Richfield Springs, Ashlee Hunt of Richfield Springs, Kevin Hunt of Richfield Springs; three very special grandchildren, Dustin and Mackenzie Hunt of Richfield Springs, Alexandria Hunt of Herkimer and several other grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and David Moshier of Greenwich, Sheila and Frank Dingman of Glens Falls; one brother and sister-in-law, Willis and Barbara Hunt of Vermont; several aunts, uncle, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, mother-in-law, Theresa Larabee, sister-in-law, Darlene Judson, grandmother-in-law and grandfather-in-law, Bertha and James Tubia. Friends and relatives are invited to attend Ed?s funeral service on Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, at noon at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion with Major James Smith, of the Salvation Army of Oneonta, officiating. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, North Ilion. Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. to noon prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Edward J. Hunt Memorial Fund, c/o Daureen Hunt, 9 Park St., Richfield Springs, NY 13439. Special envelopes will also be available at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, Ilion.
