Edson "Ed" G. Schofield

MOHAWK – Edson “Ed” G. Schofield, age 102, of Mohawk, passed away peacefully, at home, on Sunday, January 28, 2024, with his loving daughter, JoAnne and son, Scott, by his side.

He was born on May 12, 1921, in Little Falls, the son of Warren and Blanche (Phillips) Schofield. Ed graduated from Little Falls School, in 1939. He was a Veteran of W.W. II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Force and the Korean War, in the U.S. Air Force. On May 3, 1952, he was married to Theresa Reagan, at St. Francis Church, Utica and enjoyed 70 years of marriage with her. She passed away, on May 5, 2022. Ed was employed as a Shipping & Receiving Clerk, at Herkimer Tool & Model Co., Herkimer. He was also a member of the Mohawk American Legion.

Surviving family members include his children, JoAnne and Scott Schofield, whom he resided with, in Mohawk; his sister, Mrs. Robert (Norma) Greif, of Utica; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Theresa; his parents; and his 3 brothers, Warren, Merton and Richard Schofield.

Ed’s Graveside Memorial Service will be held later this spring, of 2024, at the Mohawk Cemetery, off John Street, in Mohawk.
