ILION - Dorothy H. Whitbeck, age 89, of Old Forge Road, Ilion, NY passed away unexpectedly on Friday evening January 3, 2014 at Faxton - St. Luke's Healthcare, Town of New Hartford, NY.
Born in Ft. Plain, NY on April 8, 1924, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Everett and Winona (Fisk) Nichols, Sr. She was educated in Ft. Plain Schools and worked for many years as a crossing guard in Ilion.
She is survived by a son, Herman Ward, Jr. of Ilion, a daughter Winona Reed and husband Steven of Ilion; her grandchildren, Christopher Farr and his fiance´ Nicole Rockwood and Jasmine Reed; her great grandchildren, Summer, Alexis, Cheyenne and Brianna Farr; a brother, Everett Nichols of Florida and a niece, Kayla Nichols.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, (Town of Frankfort), Ilion, NY, Harry & Kevin Enea, Funeral Directors, (315) 894-8000.
