Doris B. Plank, 95 a long time St. Johnsville resident, passed away on Sunday September 18, 2005 at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, NY. She was born May 1, 1910 on Washington Street in St. Johnsville the daughter of the late Lester & Viola (Fox) Bellinger. Doris was a 1926 graduate of St. Johnsville High School and also graduated from Utica School of Commerce. Her marriage to Harold Plank took place in 1935. Mr. Plank passed away in 1976. Mrs. Plank was last employed as a secretary for the St. Johnsville Elementary School, and at one time worked for Niagara Mohawk in Canajoharie, and the Central National Bank in St. Johnsville. Doris was a member of St. Paul?s Lutheran Church in St. Johnsville, NY and was a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the Church council and Alter Guild. Doris was also a member of the D.A.R. for over 50 years. Survivors include a son Reverend David B. Plank and wife Francelia of Palatine Bridge, a daughter Penelope Rider of Rochester, 6 grandchildren Jeffrey Rider of Riverside, RI, Stephanie Rider of West Henrietta, NY, Peter Plank and wife Annette of Glenburn, Maine, Laura Burr and husband David of Appleton, Maine, Andrew Plank of Sharon Springs, NY & Carrie Bruno and husband Michael of New Hyde Park, NY and 6 great grandchildren, Jenna Rider, Hunter Jehlen, Gregory Plank, Sarah Burr, Ashley Burr, & Maris Plank. She was pre-deceased by her twin sister Dorothy Louise Bellinger in 1921. Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 24, 2005 at 11:00 am from St. Paul?s Lutheran Church in St. Johnsville, NY. Burial will follow at St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY on Friday September 23, 2005 from 4-7 pm. All memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul?s Lutheran Church or to S.A.V.A.C. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. For directions to the funeral home, click the link above.
