Mrs. Doris F. Dunadee, age 79, of 316 Fourth Ave., Frankfort, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2002 at the Valley Health Services in Herkimer. She was born on January 26, 1923, in Ilion, daughter of the late Lea (Tessier) Miller Getman and Macy Miller and received her education in Ilion schools. Doris married Anthony J. "Tony" Dunadee on August 9, 1946, a blessed union of 55 years until the passing of Tony on September 16, 2001. She last worked with M.D.S. in the valley and was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. Doris was a gentle and generous woman who will be dearly missed by her family and friends including two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Dunadee and wife, Carolyn, of Frankfort and Ronald Dunadee and wife, Barbara, of Ilion; grandchildren, Joseph, Deborah, Stephen, Robin and Christina; a sister-in-law, Celia Dunadee, of Frankfort; nieces and nephews, Maryann and Tony Nasby, Joe Kamide and Theresa Adamkiewicz; and special friends, Dick and Rosemary Myers. Doris was predeceased by her parents and stepfather, Fred Getman. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street between Ilion and Frankfort where prayer will be offered and at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. John Yanas, Pastor. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the Enea Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 30th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing are asked to consider donations in memory of Mrs. Dunadee to either the Frankfort Ambulance or to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the many neighbors and friends for their supportive concern along with Dr. Samir Desai and public health nurse, Christine Carpenter for their help and guidance during Doris' illness, the nurses and nurses' aides at Valley Health Services for the wonderful care, compassion and love given to Doris. Last, but most important of all, Aunt Celia. During these past two years, you did more for Doris and Tony than anyone could possible imagine. They were so lucky to have and so are we.
