Mrs. Doris M. Burdick 82 a resident of the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home in Ilion, since October 2006 and formerly of 2041 State Rt 29 Dolgeville, died Friday June 1st, 2007 at the nursing home. She was born in Syracuse, New York on November 11, 1924 the daughter of William and Minnie (Lanphere) Sheppard and was educated in schools in Syracuse. Her marriage to Leonard Burdick took place in November of 1940. He predeceased her April 2001. Doris was employed for 50 years at the Daniel Green Shoe Company of Dolgeville, and after her retirement from there she was employed by the Herkimer County Meals on Wheels Program retiring from there in 2004. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah?s Witnesses of Dolgeville, and she will be remembered by her family as a collector of dolls, and especially enjoying TV programs along with going to the Theater with her family. Surviving is a son and his wife Lawrence and Carol Burdick of Ilion, her daughters and their husbands Beverly and Arnold Cohen of Selkirk, Jean and Glenn Lamphere Sr. of Salisbury, Mary Jane Darling of Salisbury and Barbara Stoltz of Dolgeville, her Sisters Norma Young of the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home, Eileen Trickler of Gloversville, and Carole Mazur of PA., several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson Wayne Lamphere Sr. in 1984. Graveside Memorial services will be held Wednesday June 6, 2007 at 11 AM in the Stratford Cemetery, Stratford, New York, with an Elder from the Dolgeville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah?s Witnesses officiating.
