HERKIMER - Mr. Donald G. Marshall, age 75, of Lake Street, Herkimer, NY, passed away on Wednesday evening, January 15, 2014, at the St. Johnsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, St. Johnsville, NY. He received fantastic care from the loving staff of the Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on April 19, 1938 in Herkimer, son of the late George Henry and Ethyel (Wolcott) Marshall. He was a United States Navy veteran, having served our country from 1958 until 1962. He worked with the Library Bureau in Herkimer and retired from Jones Library Sales of Carlisle, Iowa.
He is survived by nephews, Lauren Hailston and wife, Margaret, of Herkimer, Bruce Hailston and wife, Denise, of Midland, Michigan, and Jack Marshall; as well as several great nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by several friends including Jim Hill and Gary Smith. He was predeceased by his sister, Lois Ann Hailston and brother - in - law, John L. Hailston, and brother John Marshall and sister - in - law, Teresa.
In lieu of choosing a funeral, Donald has chosen direct cremation. His family cemetery is Oak Hill in Herkimer, NY. A service may be held there at a later date.
