Donald Joseph Gregory, Jr.

Donald Joseph Gregory Jr., of Schenectady, a native of Herkimer, passed away on Christmas Day 2015 from the effects of COPD and pneumonia. Born on August 6, 1948, he was the son of the late Donald Joseph Sr. and Anna Sullivan Gregory. He was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales School and a member of Herkimer High School's class of 1966. In 1970 Don graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University with a Bachelor's Degree in English.

Don is survived by his sister and brother in law, John and Joan Gregory Fancher and their daughters Barbara, Elizabeth, Laura, and Kristin; and his nieces and nephews Lucius, Greg, Amanda, and Melissa, the children of his deceased sister Mary Ellen Gregory Lackore.

Although he hadn't lived in Herkimer for years, Don cherished the memories of his high school years and the friends he made there. Anyone wishing to memorialize him, please consider the City Mission of Schenectady who were more than kind to him when he needed their help.

A graveside prayer service will be held 9:30 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, with Seminarian Frank Vivacqua, officiating.
