Dennis Keyes

Dennis M. Keyes, Sr., age 52, began eternal life on Sunday afternoon, January 2, 2005. His passing occurred in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica. He was born on June 10, 1952 in Leland, North Carolina, a son of the late Howard and Ella (Smith) Keyes. Dennis came to the Mohawk Valley when he was a teenager and received his education in Utica schools. He was united in marriage to Margaret Fasolo in 1971 in Utica and was currently employed by the Herkimer Evening Telegram. Dennis was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed writing. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife Margaret of Herkimer, a daughter, Tasha Keyes of Herkimer; two sons, Dennis M. Keyes, Jr. also of Herkimer and David F. Keyes; two brothers, Howard Keyes and wife Sharon of Utica and Mike Keyes and wife Dorothy of Utica; five grandchildren, Brooke Keyes, Randy Holmes, Jerry Holmes, Chris Colon and Steven Keyes. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and inlaws. He was predeceased by a brother Steven Keyes. The family will be present in the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer to receive relatives and friends on Thursday morning, January 6, 2005 from 9-11 a.m. His funeral will commence at the conclusion of visitation (11 am). The Rev. Mark Cunningham, pastor of St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer, will officiate. Dennis will be laid to rest this spring in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer.
