Della & Michael Barber

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MR. & MRS. DELLA FURNEY – BARBER

Mrs. Della (Furney) and Michael Barber left this earth together. Della on October 22, 2026, and Michael on October 19, 2026.

This beautiful couple met in assisted living, fell in love, and walked down the aisle in their walkers to be married on July 17, 2021.

Their next home was in Waterville Residential Care where they entered in the same way in matching wheelchairs.

The love they shared was special and they were blessed to share that love for eight years.

Della leaves a son Christopher (Karen), siblings, Nancey Koury (Tom), Arnold Furney & Pauline (godson Justin Woolheater). She was predeceased by her parents, Beverly & Arnold Furney, as well as a brother, Kenny Furney. She leaves behind numerous nieces, and nephews, whom she loved ever so deeply.

Michael is survived by his beloved family in Watertown, New York. His brother, Gary (Patty), has been an extraordinary source of support to Nancey, for which she is deeply grateful.

Our families want to give immense thanks to Tish Parry, Courtney Ruane, and Kelly Strong from Waterville Residential Care Center who enriched their lives by providing purpose to their livelihood going out of their way to making sure they were able to renew their vows last month before God called them home together. These ladies are so very special.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Parish, formerly St. Mark’s Church, 440 Keyes Road, Utica, New York. Their interments will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Utica, New York.
