Debra L. Owens, 40 of Navarre, Ohio, passed away on Saturday February 4, 2006 at Massillon Community Hospital.
She was born July 11, 1965 in Rockville Centre, Long Island, NY to Richard J. & Barbara K. (Kulawy) Handel and was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School, class of 1983. Debra furthered her education at Herkimer County Community College graduating in 1985 with a degree on Occupational Therapy, moving to Ohio in 1987.
On September 13, 1997, she married Steven W. Owens.
Survivors include her husband Steven of Ohio, her parents; Richard & Barbara of Whitesboro, her sisters, Valerie Weingart and her husband Charles of Queensbury, NY, and Karen Plado Costante and her husband Salvatore of Marcy, NY, her nieces & nephew, Alyssa and Seth Weingart (her godson) and Gabriella and Adriana Plado Constante (her goddaughter), a step-son, Daniel Owens of Wooster; mother-in-law, Mary Pepper; sisters-in-law, Debra Johns & Teresa Dick.
She was pre-deceased by a step-son, Wesley Owens, her grandmother, Tonia Kulawy & her uncle, John Kulawy.
Local funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY, at a time to be announced.
