ILION - Dawn Marie (Phillips) Deyle, 76, of Ilion, New York, passed away on January 17th, 2026, after a long illness.
Dawn was born on March 22nd, 1949, in Ilion, NY, the daughter of Leslie V. Phillips Sr. and Kathleen C. (Baylor) Phillips. She graduated from West Canada Valley High School in 1968.
On September 18th, 1976, Dawn married William H. Deyle in Ilion, NY. They shared 45 years of marriage until Bill’s passing on October 6th, 2021.
Dawn worked for a time at Dave Cramer’s Video Rental, where her love of movies blossomed. She later worked alongside her husband at Bill Deyle’s Repair.
Dawn especially loved her 1965 fire-engine-red GTO convertible. She purchased her beloved “Goat” in California and proudly drove it back to New York. She enjoyed entering it in local car shows and won several trophies over the years.
Dawn was a wonderful host of family gatherings and loved her family with all her heart. She even “adopted” several of her children’s friends as her own. She also held a special place in her heart for her dog, Thor, and her many cats. Whether they lived inside with her or were feral outdoors, they were always given food and love.
Remaining to cherish Dawn’s memory are her daughter, Kathy Jameson, and son-in-law, Tony Jameson, of Granby, CO; her son, Bill Deyle II, of Ilion, NY; her grandchildren, Tom Foster III, Brody Foster, Joe Jameson, and Freya Jameson; and her great-grandchildren, Savannah, Avery, and Riley Foster. She is also survived by her sisters and their spouses, Cindy and Kevin McCaffery, Sandy and Tom Rush, Trina and Jim Lynch; her sister-in-law, Betty Phillips; her brothers and their spouses, Bucky and Jodi Phillips and Tim Phillips and brother-in-law Tom Rich; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Preceding Dawn in death are her husband Bill Deyle, son Tom Foster, dad Leslie Phillips, mother Kathleen Phillips, sister Patti Rich and brother Gary Phillips.
Visitation and services will be held on Sunday, January 25th, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home at 4309 Acme Road in Ilion (Town of Frankfort), with a Celebration of Life to follow across the road at The Frankfort VFW.
